Buying A Beginner Drum Set Know What To Look For

If there was one pop group that truly captured the spirit of the swinging sixties, then it was the Beatles, and any karaoke event centred around a sixties revival would be sadly lacking without plenty of popular karaoke songs by the Beatles. During the years they were active, from 1962 to 1970, the Beatles produced an incredible 214 original compositions. Often their B-side recordings featured hits as well and some of the LPs intended for the American market, differed expensively from British productions. On the first five albums, love featured prominently as a theme which was perhaps no surprise. John Lennon was at the time very much in love with his wife Cynthia, while Paul McCartney, who dated several girls throughout their rise to fame, also embraced the concept of romance. John Lennon's young son Julian also inspired a few songs, for example 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' which originated with a picture he drew in pre-school and 'Hey Jude', an expression of empathy for the boy by Paul McCartney, during his parents' divorce. With Beatle mania sometimes reaching fever pitch, this talented group left a treasure trove of memorable recordings.

Yes Indeed, But Is It Art?

Pottery is really alive in UK. If it is English ceramics that we are talking about, certainly, the place to go to is Stoke-on-Tent. For three hundred years, the capital of UK ceramics has been a haven to some of the most successful and the most plentiful English pottery manufacturing companies that became well - renowned trademarks in the United Kingdom.

Panic At The Disco’s Brendon Urie’s Nasty Stage Injury (VIDEO)

Brendon Urie of Panic At The Disco is not some wimpy Emo dude. Nope. He really hurt himself during a live show, and decided to keep on rockin’, despite a massively swollen ankle. Don’t let the ridiculous looking vest in the video fool you, this could be filed under “true rock star moments.” After getting up close and personal with the crowd at a show in Jacksonville, Florida, Brendon stepped back on stage with a limp. He sort of hobbles for a second trying to pull his shoe off…then BOOM: the reveal. The crowd lets loose a sort of sympathetic, but still grossed out “ooooooooohhhhh,” as he shows off a pretty sick looking dumpling of an ankle injury. Let’s be honest, most people would be on the ground screaming, but this guy just sort of takes it like a man. He doesn’t even walk off stage to be check out. He just makes a couple of jokes about his grandmother’s goiter and straps on a guitar. The crowd seems to really appreciate his dedication and gets pretty fired up before the next song. Eventually the show ended and Brendon made it to the hospital, but not before sending this photo [...]

Arts and Entertainment:Music from EzineArticles.com

If you are a retro speaker enthusiast, chances are you have heard of the Large Advent Speaker, but have you ever heard of the Smaller Advent Speaker? For audiophiles looking for that classic uncolored Advent sound without the huge footprint of the large advent speaker, the smaller advent speaker was the perfect solution. It reallt is a testament to the smaller advent speaker that even today, a pair of these bought in 1972 holds up against the current speaker technology of the day.

It was not until the electrical guitar was birthed that a distinction became necessary. The acoustic guitar comes in various shapes and sizes, looks and feel. Rent Karaoke CDs for Your One Time Event

Up until a few years ago the only option for buying a guitar was to find a music shop in a high street, or more often than not a back street. With the coming of the information age the internet has changed the way we do many things in our lives, including the way many of us buy guitars. For many of us guitar players the thought of buying and paying for a guitar sight unseen would be unheard of, but a quick look at the auction sites show just how many instruments are being bought and sold.

Yamaha FG700S Acoustic Guitar Review

The post World War II years in America saw an explosion of musical art. The war was over, the boys had come home, and the production prowess of the nation shifted away from the war machine back to the consumer goods that it had originally been set up to pump out. Many of our musician soldiers too returned to their vocation of creating music. Country music, jazz, swing, and other forms of popular music didn't just pick up where they left off, they began thriving and moving in new directions as musicians experimented with musical influences they might have picked up overseas and a new musical freedom that availed itself along with the freedom from war that the country had been longing for. From this new expression, rockabilly sprouted and grew at a phenomenal pace until it was the hottest form of music around.

Rockabilly Pioneers Took Familiar Musical Forms and Developed a Genre All Their Own

Almost every fan of rock and roll knows the name Roy Orbison. His song "Pretty Woman" has become a classic and has been covered by many artists over the years. He's also known for his beautiful, smooth, and soaring voice which he used to such great effect on countless rock ballads like "Only the Lonely" which reached #2 on the charts and "Running Scared" which made it all the way to the top spot in 1960. But before he was recording these wonderful rock ballads, laced with string arrangements to compliment Orbison's amazing voice, he was recording rockabilly.

Improve the Tone and Appearance of Your Guitar: How to Clean Your Guitar

There are several rockabilly artists from the 1950s when rockabilly originally hit the scene that have since become household names. These are artists that pretty much everyone has heard of. Among these names are Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Conway Twitty (who was recording back then as Harold Jenkins). But there are other rockabilly cats who had a huge impact on the world of rock and roll but whose names most people wouldn't recognize, even though they're probably familiar with some of their music from listening to "oldies." Then of course, there are the completely obscure rockabilly artists whose songs never survived to make it onto oldies radio shows and whose names are all but lost to rock and roll history. Yet the music that these musicians made proves the value of their contributions to rock and roll.

Last night David and I made our way to the Hollywood Palladium to see the superstar DJ Girl Talk live in concert. I got turned on to Girl Talk last year when he released his album All Day free online and I was very curious to see what his live show would be like. Basically, it’s like a big party where all of your fave songs get played and mashed together. I wouldn’t say it was the best concert I’ve ever been to but it deffo was a fun time.

Essentially, the sold out audience at the Palladium paid to hear a DJ play songs all night long … which doesn’t sound all that interesting but the songs that were played and the way they were mashed up with other songs was, at the very least, inventive and fun. I was most impressed by the mash-up of Kelly Clarkson‘s Since U Been Gone on top of the throbbing guitar riff from the Nine Inch Nails song Wish. Every single person was dancing last night … and that is the sign of a great show. David is not a fan of concerts but he had fun so … yeah, I’m glad we went to the show.

Tonight is a night off for me, as I have concerts every other night all week long. I’m planning on seeing Duran Duran tomorrow night then Oh Land & OMD on Friday night and then Good Charlotte on Saturday night. We may see a movie tonight but … we may also just stay in to recuperate. Happy Tuesday!!

Such a powerful interview. All the more reason that this kind of behavior needs to be STOPPED.

Casey Heynes, the 15 year old boy who became the underdog's hero overnight after a video of him defending himself against a relentless bully went viral, sat down for an exclusive interview on A Current Affair tonight, and revealed, among other things, that he has been so tormented by his peers his entire that last year, he even considered killing himself.

Unbelievable. It's so frightening to think how commonplace this kind of behavior has become.

Please watch the full interview (above).

Casey is such a well-spoken, thoughtful young man, and we're so proud of him for making the right choice and standing up for himself. Hopefully, his story will serve as a wake-up call to adults, teachers, and peers and remind us all that it's our job to prevent this kind of behavior before it escalates into violence.

Casey didn't lose his life, but there are many other kids out there, alone, tormented, and confused who need the support that he is now getting.

Marquees for Sale and Hire for Different Occasions

Often time's common everyday items are overlooked in our quest for specific art decor which displays our individual perception of beauty and form. Perhaps in some far distant era of time our common products, which we take for granted, may perplex some future civilization as they attempt to distinguish what the items purpose and reason for being was. For this quest I have attempted to take my everyday manual can opener and reveal to the reader the true beauty associated with this functional utensil.
